Intermediate sanding of wood paint layers

Intermediate sanding of wood paint layers

When painting wooden surfaces, such as cabinet doors, dining tables, or the like, you want a smooth surface when it comes time to apply the final coat of paint. To ensure this, each coat of paint must be flawless.

No matter how carefully you work, there is always the risk of bubbles appearing on the surface or particles such as dust sticking to the wet paint. The solution is to sand the surface before applying a new coat of primer or paint. With Mirka solutions, intermediate sanding can be quick, easy and dust-free.

Sanding between paint layers using Mirka solutions. Sand the surface.

After each layer has dried, sand the entire surface with an electric eccentric sander "Mirka® DEOS" or "Mirka® DEROS". For best results, we recommend using Mirka abrasives such as Abranet®, Mirlon®, Galaxy or Iridium®.

To avoid over-aggressive material removal and the risk of sanding off the paint layer, it is best to use medium-grit abrasives (240-400).

Using a vacuum cleaner while sanding reduces the amount of dust particles in the air. Your health and layers of paint will thank you later.

Take care of your health. Your most important asset is yourself.

If you want to work better and more efficiently, but don't want to breathe dust, our dust-free sanding solutions are your best friend. When the dust is directed into the dust bag, it does not enter your or your customers' lungs.
