Boat cleaning process

Sequence of the boat cleaning process

Preparation:

  1. First step. Assess the condition of the surface and undertake preparatory work. Depending on the surface dirt, dilute the oxalic acid-based cleaner "Polarshine Marine Deep Clean" 1: 3 - 1:10. Spray the entire solution with the resulting solution.
  2. Second step. Clean the sprayed surface with a scrub brush. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse well with water.
  3. Third step. Dry the washed surface with a cloth Mirka "330 x 330 mm, yellow".
    Recommendation
: Sand the surface if it is in poor condition. If the surface is just faded, it will be enough to just polish it.

Sanding:

  1. First step. Start sanding with the "Abralon 150 mm P2000" sanding disc. Before starting, spray water on both the floppy disk and the sanding surface. The recommended speed of the grinding machine "Deros" is from 6000 to 8000 rpm.
  2. Second step. Before sanding "Abralon 150 mm P4000", clean the surface to prolong the life of the floppy disk. After replacing the floppy disk, repeat the sanding steps again.
  3. Third step. Dry the sanded surface well with a Mirka “330 x 330 mm, yellow” cloth. Make sure the surface is completely sanded and only then start polishing.

Polishing:

  1. First step. Polishing is performed only on a dry surface. Polish on a Mirka "PS 1437" with "Lambswool Pad Pro 150 mm" and "Polarshine 10" polishing compound. Recommended polisher speed from 900 to 1100 rpm.
Recommendation: If the surface needs to be renewed slightly, use "Polarshine 10" paste and "Lambswool Pad Pro 150 mm". If the surface is dark and needs more attention, additionally use a polishing mixture "Polarshine 5" and a polishing sponge "Waffle 150 x 25 mm, yellow". After polishing with "Polarshine Marine Final Finish", wipe off any polishing residue.
  2. Second step. Wash the surface with water and cover with "Polarshine Marine Shield". Leave for a few minutes. Wash off excess coating with water. Always use a pressure washer for flushing.
  3. Third step. Dry with a cloth Mirka "330 x 330 mm, yellow" and allow the coating to harden for at least 12 hours (drying temperature from +5 C to +25 C). The surface protection coating is for one swimming season.
