Sanding and polishing the glossy surface of wood

Sanding and polishing the glossy surface of wood

Sanding:

  1. First step. Sand with a "Microstar 150 mm P1200" until the surface is completely matt.
  2. Second step. Switch on the vacuum cleaner. Then sand with "Abralon 150 mm P3000".
  3. Third step. Spray water on the surface to be sanded and the sanding disc. Reduce the speed of the Mirka "Deros 650CV" sander to 7000 rpm.
  4. Fourth step. Wipe the sanded surface with a microfiber Mirka "330 x 330 mm, yellow" cloth. Make sure the surface is completely sanded and only then start polishing.

Polishing:

  1. First step. Start polishing by placing the sheepskin "Lambswool Pro 150 mm Grip" on the Mirka "PS 1437".
  2. Second step. Then apply a small amount of "Polarshine 10" polishing paste on the sheepskin, shaking it well beforehand.
  3. Step three (optional). To obtain a deeper surface shine, use a polishing sponge Mirka "Waffle 150 mm, yellow" together with polishing paste "Polarshine 10". When polishing, press the polishing machine lightly to avoid heating the surface.
